Oblique Commentary on Swiss Design
All the heartthrobs are dying
This to the crown among the daddies of the time
My daily process

dear Cinnette
reflecting the popular media of the day
It wasn’t my agenda to tell you
how Sal was stabbed in a robbery gone wrong
or how the president bombed Serbia
to win back Mrs. Clinton
after the Lewinsky scandal (Gail Shelly, 1999)
Yes,
yes
the skeleton men wear war helmets
and medals are on the line
Demon possession is real
I’ve become obsessed with Soviet visuals
needle drops, fourth wall breaks.
Swiss design prioritizes objectivity
and I say
bless the leggings
as soon as I get to Rockland, Maine
I’m going to read
Laynie Browne’s Daily Sonnets.
The moon is a beautiful heartbreaker
kissing Napoleon goodbye.
Sad Communes
all morning I’ve been watching firearms videos
& writing letters. First to Thom, then to you—
Is the New Narrative the same as the New Flesh
A s k i n g
for a friend
There’s silent pleasure in drinking a Mexican Coca Cola
rear gunner
The sun forgot her hijab
rear gunner
Did you see the rainbow slouching
rear gunner
All the kids are hip
rear gunner
When I say dear Cinnette
I mean Sonnet
I mean Triolet
I mean
rear gunner
get my back
I mean my heart beat
yeah
I mean
my Excalibur
I mean
Dear Cinnette
all morning I’ve been watching firearms videos
rear gunner
& thinking
of sad communes
& girls with
brown hair
cutting across glittering ends
